Anna Nicole Smith’s Daughter Dannielynn Birkhead Makes Rare Appearance at 2017 Kentucky Derby

More than 10 years after her mother’s death, Anna Nicole Smith’s daughter Dannielynn Birkhead made a rare appearance!

The adorable 10-year-old stepped out for an annual day date with her father Larry Birkhead at the 2017 Kentucky Derby on Saturday, May 6 — and little Dannie is looking more and more like her gorgeous model mama!

She walked the red carpet at the famous horserace wearing an adorable white knee-length dress with pink floral appliqué and a matching pink floral fascinator on top of a sleek, side ponytail. Her proud papa dressed in a coordinating ensemble with a beige suit with a pink tie and pocket squares.

Getting all dressed up and attending the Kentucky Derby is becoming an annual tradition for Dannie and her daddy. They’ve posed on the red carpet for the past eight years — with Dannie making her debut at just three years old — and her outfits are usually designed to feature her favorite color, pink.

In February, Larry opened up his home to Inside Edition to give fans a glimpse into what life has been like for Dannie since Anna Nicole died a decade ago — when she was just eight months old. The former Playboy model was found dead in a hotel room in Florida on February 8, 2007, and her cause of death was an apparent drug overdose.

But even though Anna Nicole passed away tragically, her memory lives on through her daughter. Dannie leads a fairly normal life for being the child of a celebrity — her bedroom is decorated with a Tinkerbell theme, she takes violin lessons, and she likes to make people laugh with her impersonations of famous people.

“I think here in Kentucky, it’s as normal as you can get,” Larry told Inside Edition. “She loves school, she loves her friends, I just hope she dreams big and accomplishes a lot.”
