Are Charlie Heaton and Natalia Dyer Still Together? 2025 Relationship Update
With Stranger Things officially back for its final season, fans aren’t just buzzing about the Upside Down — they’re once again invested in the real-life romance between Charlie Heaton and Natalia Dyer. The longtime couple, who play Jonathan Byers and Nancy Wheeler, have kept their relationship famously low-key since the beginning… which, of course, only makes fans more curious.
Charlie, now 31, opened up a bit more than usual in a new interview with Wonderland magazine, where he reflected on both the show and his nearly decade-long relationship with Natalia. The pair first met while auditioning for Stranger Things back in 2015 and quietly transitioned from co-stars to something more.
Natalia addressed their slow-burn beginnings years ago, telling Cosmopolitan in 2022, “We were colleagues first. It’s a standard, natural thing that would’ve happened either way… The weirdest thing about [our relationship] is other people’s perception and reaction to it.”
That interest hasn’t faded — especially with the characters’ future still a big question mark. But Charlie insists that getting to share the show with Natalia is something he doesn’t take for granted. Calling their dynamic “precious,” he said, “It’s been a gift to work with my best friend.”
As for how they navigate the constant fan speculation? Charlie keeps it simple. Some of the reactions have been… intense, but he shrugs it off. “It’s nice, I guess?” he told the magazine.
Surprisingly, he even offered a rare peek at what their life looks like away from Hawkins. The couple apparently love performing two-hand plays together — sometimes at home, sometimes in a park — simply for each other. Charlie laughed about the hobby, telling Wonderland, “I know it sounds super nerdy… I’m making myself sound way more cultured than I am.”
He also acknowledged that their real-life relationship may heighten audience attachment to Jonathan and Nancy’s on-screen storyline, something he and Natalia never anticipated but have learned to roll with.
Outside of his relationship, Charlie also reflected on fatherhood. He shares his 11-year-old son with ex-bandmate Akiko Matsuura and became a dad at just 20. “Being a young father, you have to grow up very fast,” he explained. “You want to give them good experiences and a lot of love… the hard part obviously is distance. But that’s part of the sacrifice.”
So, are Charlie and Natalia still together in 2025? From everything he’s shared — and the way he talks about her — it sure seems like yes.
