How Much Did the Cast of ‘Stranger Things’ Really Make for Season 5? A Breakdown of Their Salaries

Following its premiere on Netflix in July 2016, Stranger Things immediately became a hit.

Starring Millie Bobby Brown, Finn Wolfhard, Caleb McLaughlin, Gaten Matarazzo, Noah Schnapp, Sadie Sink, Natalia Dyer, Charlie Heaton and Joe Keery, among some other major names, the sci-fi series has garnered major success with fans on the edge of their seats for what’s to come. When it comes to their personal achievements, the actors reportedly had some major pay raises from season 1 to 5.

Stranger Things served as an entrance into Hollywood for a lot of the cast members, including Millie. “The thing is, I get asked when I first knew I wanted to act so often, and I genuinely can’t answer it. It’s just … I got the bug and that’s it,” she told Vogue in September 2016.

“I think the show’s success is because we have a great cast and a great crew,” the actress added at the time. “I kind of knew it would happen, that it would be big, because our writers are geniuses and we have a great cast. We’re like a family.”

After a long hiatus due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, the show’s fourth season was released in 2022. A message from creators Matt Duffer and Ross Duffer in February of that same year gave viewers a much-needed update on the series, announcing that an upcoming fifth season would be the show’s last.

“Seven years ago, we planned out the complete story arc for Stranger Things. At the time, we predicted the story would last four to five seasons,” a February 2022 social media post from the Duffer Brothers read. “It proved too large to tell in four, but — as you’ll soon see for yourselves — we are now hurtling toward our finale. Season 4 will be the penultimate season; season 5 will be the last.”

Now, Season 5 is set to premiere its first few episodes on November 26, 2025, and fans aren’t only wondering what’s going to happen to our favorite characters … but also how much the actors portraying them are making behind-the-scenes.
