Christina Haack (formerly Christina Hall) and Heather Rae El Moussa (née Young) have a lot in common besides being beautiful blondes. Not only do they share the same passion for home renovation, but they also share a similar taste in men as Heather is married to Christina’s first ex-husband, Tarek El Moussa.
As Christina, Heather and Tarek are set to make their debut on their new HGTV show The Flip Off — where they team up against each other to see who can flip property for the highest profit — fans are wondering if Heather and Christina are friends in real life.

“We’re around each other a lot for the kids. We’re at school events and sports events. We’ve always gotten along,” Heather Rae told Us Weekly in a January 8, 2025 interview.
Collaborating on The Flip Off helped Christina and Heather Rae get to know each other on a deeper level and the ladies developed a strong bond.
“It was great. She texted me after saying, ‘You’re so fun to film with,’ and I was like, ‘Oh, you too!’ We just laugh. We pick on Tarek,” Heather Rae said about what it was like the first time they filmed together for the show. Christina added, “Right away, it was so easy.”
“There have been so many times throughout all of this that I’m like, ‘Wow, I can’t believe we did that.’ I’m proud of all of us,” the Beach Bargains star said about how the trio handled working together.

“We work together, we raise kids together and I like her. We’re not besties hanging out all the time, but we’ve gone to dinner together and had a fun time. We actually talked for hours,” Heather told the publication. Christina confessed, “It’s great. We text daily about the kids. We’re in a really good spot.”
Christina Haack Thinks Heather Rae El Moussa Made Tarek El Moussa a Better Person
“She’s not jealous of me [and doesn’t think] oh, me and Tarek want to get back together, ever! [There was] absolutely no jealousy [for me]. I’m so happy for Tarek and Heather,” Christina told the outlet. “They make a great couple and honestly, he’s become a better man.”
Heather Rae El Moussa Was Not a Fan of Christina Haack’s Estranged Husband Josh Hall
The original setup of The Flip Off was pitting Tarek and Heather Rae against Christina and then-husband Josh Hall in a competition to see which couple could find, purchase and renovate houses for the greatest profit.
Josh only filmed one episode of the show before he filed for divorce from Christina on July 12, 2024, citing “irreconcilable differences.” She filed her own divorce petition with the Orange County, California, Superior court on July 16, 2024. The duo is embroiled in a bitter divorce battle that is heading to court as of January 29, 2025.
Christina continued to film the show with Tarek and Heather Rae, getting paired up with industry professionals in place of Josh.
Heather Rae said the environment on set of the show was “better” after Josh was no longer a part of The Flip Off. “Not to be mean, but he definitely didn’t have the best personality. So, it’s like a breath of fresh air. And [Christina is] in a really good place,” she told Us.
Christina chimed in, “This isn’t Josh’s show. No one’s going to miss that he’s not in it. Josh is not a TV host, he’s not a house flipper, he’s not a designer. He was just my husband in it. With Tarek, we built everything together, and I still have respect for him. I have no respect for Josh.”
How Long Were Christina Haack and Tarek El Moussa Married?
The former couple wed in 2009 after three years of dating. They welcomed daughter Taylor in September 2010 and son Brayden in August 2015. Christina and Tarek split in December 2016 and finalized their divorce in January 2018.
Despite the end of their marriage, the duo continued to work together successfully on their hit HGTV show Flip or Flop, which premiered in April 2013. The home flipping show came to an end in March 2022.

The couple tied the knot on October 23, 2021, in Montecito, California after more than two years of dating. They welcomed a son, Tristan, on January 31, 2023.
