We all know some of the best hits come from heartbreak — just ask Taylor Swift — but no one was expecting this! A heavily auto-tuned Ariana Grande seemingly served it up to her bad boy ex Mac Miller in her latest album with the song “Better Off” —and she didn’t disappoint.

Truly giving the world a sneak peek into their rocky romance, the 25-year-old didn’t hold back any feelings. “I’m better off without him. I’m better off being a wild one,” she sang. Obviously, fans assumed the lyrics were throwing shade at Mac. We mean, who hasn’t had a toxic relationship where they found themselves having to repeat this in the mirror every ten minutes in order to gain the courage to leave? Exactly.

Ariana followed that line with, “On the road a lot, had to keep it a thousand. So that I’m better off not being around yah.” Ouch.

“Nah, I’d rather just watch you smoke and drink, yeah.” Obviously being sarcastic the singer seemingly took a jab at Mac’s DUI accident which happened right before the two split. Still showing that he will always have a place in her heart, she sings, “I swear your love is a curse.” Seriously, did we date the same guy?
