It seems like we aren’t the only ones not letting go. Ariana Grande and James Corden recreated the Titanic on The Late Late Show With James Corden — giving the beloved 21-year-old movie a brand new soundtrack! The one-shot take brings you from the beginning of the ship’s voyage right to the ice-breaking end.
The two ~fly~ through 13 brilliant songs and nine different set changes for the five-minute skit. The 25-year-old singer set the mood by starting the tribute with Styx’s “Come Sail Away” as Rose with help from the host as Jack, of course. Their introductory song was equally as fulfilling with Hall & Oates’ “Rich Girl” and then the two danced their way through Timbaland’s “The Way I Are.”
The ship’s iconic balcony scene was revamped with the duo singing the Foo Fighter’s “Learn to Fly” just before they made their way to the basement to “Just Dance” to Lady Gaga’s 2009 hit. But it wasn’t long before Ariana aka Rose got swept away by Caledon’s character. James addressed the scene by singing One Direction’s “Steal My Girl” and simply winning our hearts as Jack.
Before you draw your own conclusions, the pair reunited to sing Ed Sheeran’s “Shape of You” while recreating Jack’s epic “French girl” picture of Rose. Next, the two sang along in a car to Nelly’s “Ride Wit Me” — uncovering a whole new reason why those windows were steamy. While quickly realizing that the “Ice Ice Baby” was too close, they stop, collaborate, and listen to Vanilla Ice’s 1990 hit. Naturally, they began singing Pitbull’s “Timber” while the ship goes down.
Rick Astley’s “Never Gonna Give You Up” played while Jack was holding on to his life on the floating door. This was only until Jack came to realize “there wasn’t any more room upon that door,” and began singing NSYNC’s “Bye Bye Bye.”
The video concludes with Ariana and James performing Celine Dion’s “My Heart Will Go On” for the dramatic finale. Watch the video below:
Unlike Rose and Jack, Ariana and James will be reuniting again this week! Ariana is slated to appear on Carpool Karaoke with James on Wednesday.
We can’t wait to see what they have in store for us next!
