Just a few tears left to cry. Ariana Grande performed in Mac Miller’s hometown of Pittsburgh on Wednesday, June 12, and it looks like being there made her very emotional. The 25-year-old broke down as soon as she sang the verse about the late rapper in “thank u, next.” Fortunately, though, Ariantors got her through it.

“Thought I’d end up with Sean/ But he wasn’t a match/ Wrote some songs about Ricky/ Now I listen and laugh/ Even almost got married/ And for Pete, I’m so thankful,” she sang. Just as she got to Mac’s part, her voice got shaky. “Wish I could say, ‘Thank you’ to Malcolm,” she continued, as fans began to scream in support. However, just before the chorus hit, Ari broke down again and was unable to sing — so the audience took over.

“In this moment, the city of Pittsburgh’s love for Malcolm shined through so so so much. Everyone in this arena screamed it. The most special thing I have ever been a part of. We miss you. We love you. Thank you for this, @ArianaGrande. This city loves you,” wrote one fan on Twitter.

“Pittsburgh loves you so so much. Super grateful I was able to be here for this moment. Mac is always with us and shining over you every night. We love you so, so much, @ArianaGrande. XX,” tweeted a second fan.

“Love how the whole crowd cheered when she said Mac’s name,” a third person wrote. “Tonight’s show was very hard for her and the fact that she went on that stage and gave her absolute everything is amazing. She’s so f—king strong.”

Mac passed away from an overdose in September 2018 at the age of 26. Despite the fact that it’s only been eight months since his death, Ari continues to stay strong. We love you, girl!
