Benson Boone Apologizes for 2025 Grammys Wardrobe Malfunction After ‘Aggressively’ Adjusting Jumpsuit
Benson Boone became a trending topic on social media thanks to his energetic performance at the 2025 Grammy Awards — and eye-catching wardrobe malfunction.
The crooner, 22, riled up the crowd when he kicked off his performance of “Beautiful Things” with the help of supermodel Heidi Klum and comedian Nikki Glaser, who teamed up to rip off his black outfit to reveal a sparkling baby blue jumpsuit underneath on Sunday, February 2.
Benson certainly captivated the audience with his smooth voice and signature flip off the piano, but fans also spotted a cheeky moment at the end of his set when he adjusted his jumpsuit.
“I will be thinking about Benson Boone’s crotch grab for … a WHILE,” one fan wrote on X, formerly Twitter. “Sometimes there’s just no good way around it,” another X user wrote while a third quipped, “Wait … Does Benson’s crotch have its own website and media manager yet?!?!”

Benson coyly responded to the comments online in a shirtless Instagram Story post shared on Monday, February 3, writing, “Sorry for adjusting my jumpsuit so aggressively on stage tonight that thing was extremely restricting in certain areas.”
The American Idol alum was nominated for Best New Artist at the star-studded soiree but Chappell Roan ultimately took home the prize.
Although fans went wild for his performance, Benson is off the market and in a committed relationship with actress Maggie Thurmon, also known for being a TikTok star and podcast host. The lovebirds went public with their romance in March 2024.

Benson and Maggie, 22, were first spotted together at Elton John’s AIDS Foundation Academy Awards viewing party and were later seen at the Twisters Los Angeles-based premiere in July 2024. Benson lent his vocals for the song “Death Wish Love” as part of the movie soundtrack.
When asked about the release of his debut album, Fireworks and Rollerblades, being stressful or stress-free following the success of his hit single, Benson admitted he just trusted the process and was confident that “Beautiful Things” is not just a flash in the pan.
“I definitely understand feeling the pressure for this album. But ‘Beautiful Things’ was its own moment, and we worked very hard to get it to where that went — and I know that doesn’t always happen, and I’m not expecting that,” he told Grammy.com.
“But I’m just doing my best to get the album to as many people as I can regardless of whether it doesn’t stream at all or it does great. I’m truly so proud of these songs, and I’ve made something I love and that I’m passionate about. So I’m just excited to get my first album out.”
Fortunately, Benson said he found a creative process that works well for him. “I think the last couple of months I’ve kind of tapped into how I’ll probably write for most of the rest of my life,” the chart-topping performer added. “It’s just me and the piano, usually late at night when I can’t sleep. I’ll sit there and start playing chords and singing random melodies.”
