It’s all about balance for Bethenny Frankel! The 49-year-old spends a lot of time focusing on her health and figure, but her main priority is her daughter, Bryn Hoppy.

“My philosophy on eating and exercise is to do what you can when you can,” she captioned a swimsuit Instagram photo she shared on Wednesday, November 20. “I choose time with my daughter and sleep first.”

My philosophy on eating & exercise is to do what you can when you can. I choose time with my daughter & sleep first. If I’m near a beach, I take an hour walk. If I have the time, I’ll do a yoga dvd. I don’t believe in fear based, torturous, aggressive exercise. Life is too short and stressful to dread doing something for an hour. In addition, extreme exercise creates extreme hunger. . I love food and eat whatever I want but I NEVER binge. I don’t beat myself up about what I’ve eaten or praise myself about what I haven’t. Food isn’t your best friend or your enemy. It’s just food. I have a good relationship with it. This is all in my book “Naturally Thin” written years ago but holds true today! The reality star then revealed how she manages to stay in shape. It all starts with breaking routine and doing things she actually enjoys. “If I’m near a beach, I take an hour walk. If I have the time, I’ll do a yoga DVD,” she continued. “I don’t believe in fear-based, torturous, aggressive exercise. Life is too short and stressful to dread doing something for an hour. In addition, extreme exercise creates extreme hunger.” You can say that again!

It turns out, Bethenny actually indulges in whatever she wants but she has a rule: she doesn’t overdo it. “I love food and eat whatever I want but I NEVER binge,” she wrote. “I don’t beat myself up about what I’ve eaten or praise myself about what I haven’t. Food isn’t your best friend or your enemy. It’s just food. I have a good relationship with it. This is all in my book Naturally Thin written years ago but holds true today! Xo.”

That seems to have always been the brunette beauty’s motto. In 2012, she confessed she believes overeating is the main cause of weight gain, not having the occasional cake or bagel. “You can’t ever binge. If you don’t binge, you won’t be overweight,” she told Us Weekly at the time. “I had a bagel today. I had a tuna sandwich and some chips. I’ll have something good for dinner, but I don’t eat ice cream and cake all day or whatever. I try to have good eating habits.”

The Real Housewives of New York City alum takes pride in her appearance and when she gets body-shamed, she doesn’t hesitate to fight back. “Yeah I’m skinny. So tell me to eat a burger or that I’m gonna throw it up #f–ckoff,” she captioned a photo of dessert she posted onto her Instagram Story in February. Yes, queen!
