Bethenny Frankel Claims Stepdad Physically Attacked Her in Nasty Text Exchange (EXCLUSIVE)
In a series of text messages obtained exclusively by Life & Style, Bethenny Frankel accuses her former stepdad, John Parisella, of abuse after he contacted her about attending his daughter’s wedding. The Real Housewives of New York City star told the 73-year-old to stop badgering her before hurling accusations at him.
“You physically attacked me, verbally abused me, beat my mother senseless… Leave me alone, now and forever,” one series of texts reads. John divorced the reality star’s mother, Bernadette Birk, while she was a teenager, and though he admits he “slapped or pushed” his ex-wife while they were together, he claims he was abusing cocaine at the time and that he never touched Bethenny.
“I get these texts, making up lies that I hit her, I’m stalking her,” John tells Life & Style. “It was just the ugliest text I’ve ever seen in my life.” He adds that she hasn’t been honest about other parts of her upbringing as well. “Her whole career was based on lies,” he says. “She lived in a million-dollar house, she went to all private schools. I was the one that spent $50,000 on a Sweet 16 party.”
When asked about Bethenny’s allegations, Bernadette shared, “John and I had a volatile relationship, and he did hit me. But I never saw John raise his voice, let alone his hand, against Bethenny.”
This nasty exchange comes not long after Bethenny’s ex, Jason Hoppy, was hit with more stalking charges after allegedly harassing the businesswoman via text and email. On one occasion, he reportedly shouted “I will destroy you” outside of their seven-year-old daughter’s school. “We could have a much different relationship but you’re unwilling to shut your mouth about me and my daughter [a]nd refuse to cooperate. Ball[’]s in your court to change it,” he is said to have texted last year.
