Bravo’s ‘Love Hotel’ Stars Tease Season 1: ‘4 Housewives in 1 Hotel Is Not for the Weak’

In Bravo’s new dating series, Love Hotel, iconic Real Housewives stars Shannon Storms Beador, 61 (RHOC), Gizelle Bryant, 54, Ashley Darby, 36 (RHOP), and Luann de Lesseps, 59 ( RHONY), check into the luxe Grand Velas Boutique in Los Cabos, Mexico, to look for their match among a group of  eligible men. While the ladies admit there was some trepidation about taking the leap of faith (all of them have famously been burned in the past), “I was more worried about the men,” Ashley says. “Four Housewives in one hotel is not for the weak!” Here, the women talk to Life & Style’s Fortune Benatar about red flags, their types and lessons learned.

What are some qualities you’re looking for in a partner?

Gizelle: A man who I can have fun with and who wants to see the world.

Luann: My dream guy is tall, handsome, successful, fit, funny and kind. Someone who could possibly be a life partner. Did I also mention handsome?

Shannon: I would like a partner who is kindhearted, intelligent, a communicator, family-oriented
and fun.

Ashley: I need a man who cares about his appearance and has a style that complements mine. It’s very important that a man values his mother. Physical fitness and emotional stability are also important, because I’m moving fast and kicking ass in life. My future partner must be financially stable and smart with money. I never had to worry about money in my previous relationships, and I don’t plan to start now.

Red flags or deal-breakers?

Gizelle: Someone who’s never been in a committed relationship, has bad breath or baby feet and wants to be the center of attention.

Luann: This time around, I’m not doing bald, overweight or anyone with the name of Tom.

Shannon: The biggest red flag for me is someone who doesn’t want to communicate.

Ashley: Hygiene and oral health are the first things I notice. Inconsistency and lack of effort are also big red flags. If someone doesn’t know how to make me feel safe and valued, there’s nowhere our relationship could go. And, of course, if he doesn’t like children [then] there’s nothing for him over here.
What’s the biggest lesson you’ve learned in past relationships?

Gizelle: Communication is key; no one can read your mind.

Luann: I’m done with narcissists.

Shannon: When I see a red flag, pay attention instead of convincing myself that it doesn’t exist.

Ashley: The importance of prioritizing my needs. My default was emotional generosity for a long time, but I’m learning it’s OK to be a little selfish. I have to thank Gizelle for helping me get comfortable with that.

Any competition over men?

Shannon: I have similar taste in men as Gizelle and Luann.

Luann: We are so different in our dating styles.

Ashley: Though we all have different types, there was one bachelor who met all of our tastes.

Are you happy with how it went?

Luann: I’m super happy. Bravo did a great job presenting us with very eligible bachelors.

Shannon: Things turned out the way that they were supposed to!

Ashley: I believed I knew how my experience would go, but that was far from the truth. Thankfully, [I now know] I’m truly ready to love and be loved.
