Braxton Berrios Explains Why He Missed Alix Earle’s ‘Dancing With The Stars’ Performances Amid Split
Braxton Berrios is setting the record straight.
Just days after multiple outlets confirmed that the Houston Texans wide receiver, 30, and social media star Alix Earle, 24, had called it quits, Berrios addressed questions about why he didn’t attend any of her Dancing With the Stars performances.
On Thursday, Dec. 11, he posted a series of game day photos to Instagram with the caption, “What did I miss?” Some fans joked that it was a Drake reference, while others took it literally. “Every single performance of Alix’s,” one fan commented, referring to Earle’s run on season 34.
Berrios replied, explaining the logistics of being an NFL player. “I would’ve been at every one if I could’ve, sadly I can’t travel like that in season.” He reiterated the same point when another fan made a similar comment. “I would’ve loved to be. Sadly I wasn’t able to travel like that in-season.”
Fans also remembered that Earle had thrown Berrios a surprise 30th birthday party in Los Angeles during his bye week. The football star confirmed he had been in California, replying to a fan who joked about a “first class ticket to LA during the bye week.” “That’s exactly where I went for bye week!” he wrote.
Shortly after Berrios’s post, Earle shared her own Instagram update, featuring snaps of clubbing, hanging out with friends and rocking some rad outfits. “Can’t a girl just go dancing,” she wrote. Fans couldn’t help but notice the timing. “Okay your post after Braxton’s!!!! I hope y’all are laughing at this together!! 😭,” one fan commented.
During the season, Berrios had shown he was following her performances by sharing Instagram Stories of the broadcasts and sending a video message during finale week. Back in September, Earle told People, “He’s stuck in football world right now, so unfortunately he won’t be able to come.”
Sources told People on Dec. 5 that the couple had broken up after two years together, describing the split as “mutual.” Still, fans are holding on up that the two are somehow still together. “I hope you’re with each other posting next to one another laughing,” one fan wrote.
