There’s nothing like having the support of your family during a difficult time. Jamie Lynn Spears shared a sweet throwback photo with her older sister, Britney Spears, just hours after the 37-year-old checked herself into a wellness center on Wednesday, April 3, due to stress from dealing with her dad’s illness.

“Yup, she rode the bus home with me after my first day of school, cuz she’s the fn best. #WCW,” the Zoey 101 alum, 28, captioned the Instagram photo of the two smiling while getting off a yellow school bus.

The pop star’s longtime boyfriend also shared some love for her on social media. “It isn’t weakness, It’s a sign of absolute strength, people should only be inspired by this, at least I am. #Stronger,” Sam Asghari wrote on a post Brit shared earlier that day, which read, “Fall in love with taking care of yourself. Mind. Body. Spirit.”

The “Baby One More Time” singer took to Instagram to let fans know it’s okay to take a break. “We all need to take time for a little ‘me time.’ :)” she wrote.

Unfortunately, her father has been struggling with his health for some time now. On January 4, Britney shared a heartfelt message explaining she canceled her new show to spend time with family after her father almost died.

“I don’t even know where to start with this, because this is so tough for me to say,” she began. “I will not be performing my new show Domination. I’ve been looking forward to this show and seeing all of you this year, so doing this breaks my heart. However, it’s important to always put your family first … and that’s the decision I had to make.”

“A couple of months ago, my father was hospitalized and almost died, ” she continued. “We’re all so grateful that he came out of it alive, but he still has a long road ahead of him. I had to make the difficult decision to put my full focus and energy on my family at this time. I hope you all can understand. More information on ticket refunds is available on britneyspears.com. I appreciate your prayers and support for my family during this time. Thank you, and love you all … always.”

Our thoughts go out to Britney and her family.
