Boyfriend goals! Jessie J showed off the sentimental necklace her boyfriend, Channing Tatum, designed in honor of her late bodyguard, Dave Last, who suddenly died in 2018. The Magic Mike actor put together the touching piece of gold jewelry, and the singer has been wearing proudly.

“My necklace says ‘LASTY’ for [Lasty Touring],” the 31-year-old wrote on her Instagram Story while tagging Dave’s page. “Thank you, [Channing Tatum] for such a thoughtful gift and [Maeve Reilly] for helping him design it.” The capitalized letters on the gold chain were written in Olde English font and perfectly complimented Jessie’s edgy style.

The “Flashlight” artist was extremely close to Dave and publicly honored him on social media after his passing. “The love you had for your children. Was everything. We would laugh till we cried nearly every day,” she wrote on Instagram in December 2018. “We talked about our dreams. We talked about what our biggest fears were. You weren’t just my security, we ARE family. [Four] years. Me and you.”

She shared tons of memories of the pair together — from “giggling” during Fifty Shades of Grey to Dave being “so worried” while Jessie was in the hospital. “The way you stuck by me when everyone else left … You were my rock,” her post continued. “I wrote this because I want everyone to remember the man you were. You were a gentle giant with a heart so big everyone felt it. I love you so much … I miss you. I will see you on the other side one day.”

The tragic loss gave Jessie a new lease on life. “Starting my new year with some unexpected heavy personal stuff has only made me want to be more present in my life,” she wrote on social media in January 2019. “Spending more real time with people I love and some time with myself. When sadness hits, it’s important we embrace it, so it doesn’t define us. And it’s for sure surfaced some emotions and things I needed to work on with all my attention and love.”

Channing has been by her side for a lot of the ups and downs. The A-listers have been dating on and off for over a year. Although they broke up for a quick stint in November 2019, they are currently “head over heels in love,” an insider exclusively told Life & Style. “During the brief split, he realized how much he missed her and doesn’t want to run the risk of losing her again,” the source said.
