Charity Lawson and Joe Amabile Call Bachelor’s Juliana Pasquarosa ‘Safe’ Choice for Grant Ellis

Charity Lawson found love when she was The Bachelorette, and she has weighed in on Grant Ellis final three women, including Juliana Pasquarosa, on season 29 of The Bachelor.

During the Tuesday, March 4, episode of the “Bachelor Happy Hour” podcast, Charity, 29, and fellow Bachelor Nation alum Joe Amabile recapped Grant’s hometown date with Juliana, 28, in Newton, Massachusetts, during the Monday, March 3, episode.

“They are very cute together. I love them together. I just feel like — at least watching this episode or just their relationship and how it’s progressed up until this point — I feel like they are each other’s safe space, but I don’t know if it’s necessarily the good safe space, if that makes sense,” Charity admitted of the couple. “I feel like it’s the safe route or the safe option.”

After Joe, 38, asked Charity if she believed Grant, 31, would “settle” if he ends up with Juliana, the Dancing With the Stars alum replied, “I don’t like using that word because it sounds so bad when you say it out loud. We still have a couple weeks so I’m like, maybe the depth of it will progress.”

Joe added that Juliana and Grant seem to “really like each other,” though he’s not sure if it’s enough to create a long-lasting relationship.

Not only did Charity and Joe admit they’re not sold on Grant and Juliana’s relationship, but they also weighed in on the other hometown dates with contestants Zoe McGrady, Litia Garr and Dina Lupancu.

Both Charity and Joe agreed that Grant had the strongest connection with Litia, 31, who opened up about her Mormon faith during her hometown date in Utah.

“In comparison to everyone else, I feel like the conversation, substance, the depth of it, it goes beyond surface level, and that is what I’m looking for as a viewer watching this,” Charity said of Grant and Litia’s connection. “Like, ‘OK, how can I distinguish between who potentially is going to possibly be or become the fiancé, the wife later down the road?’ I feel like their conversations of what is shown at least is telling us like, ‘OK, this is like solid material, like this is a strong relationship.’”

Meanwhile, they said that Grant and Dina, 31, seemed to have “more of the safe friendship.” It seems that Grant felt the same way, and he sent Dina home following their hometown date in Chicago.

As for Zoe, 27, Joe said that it “really stuck out” to him that Grant was emphasizing that he “liked” her – instead of loved her – during their hometown date in New York City.

“I’m trying not to use incorrect words, but Zoe’s is a step below,” Charity said of Grant and the model’s connection while comparing it to his dynamic with the other women. “But like you said, Grant respects her. So I think to that, if you look at ‘safe’ in that sense, ‘OK, I respect you, I have a lot of respect for you, and I like you, but I don’t know if it’s anything more than this, you know.”
