It’s no secret that John Legend has a scary similar resemblance to everyone’s favorite cartoon aardvark, Arthur. He and his wife, Chrissy Teigen, have acknowledged it before and it’s actually become one of the Internet’s most popular jokes. TBH, we can’t get enough of it and apparently, Chrissy can’t either!

On Sept. 10, the mama-of-two took to Instagram to share a video of her hubby placing his well-deserved Emmy award on what appears to be a (very full) trophy shelf. The best part, of course, was the 32-year-old’s caption. “And I say hey, what a wonderful kind of day,” she wrote making reference to the Arthur theme song.

And I say hey, what a wonderful kind of day

Naturally, being quite the prankster, this isn’t the first time Chrissy has trolled John about his cartoon doppelgänger. Earlier in the year, she shared a photo of the couple’s two-year-old daughter, Luna Stephens, holding an Arthur doll and she totally made fun of John in her caption. Check out the video below to see what she said.

Leave it up to Chrissy to make a slight, but very funny, dig at her husband. She even took things one step further and explained in the comments section that this was her Arthur doll as a child. So maybe — just maybe — she has actually liked guys who look like Arthur forever. “This is my childhood Arthur doll,” she wrote. “My mom has kept it all this time. Maybe I’ve been attracted to Arthur my entire life, and now I found my real-life human one.” John’s response? “Wow.”

The fans were totally eating it up. “Bahaha oh my god, that is hilarious,” one person wrote on Chrissy’s Instagram. Another said, “This was the first thing that popped up when I woke up yesterday and I’m still dying.” So, when did the world begin to realize that John and Arthur are basically twins? The exact timeline is a bit unclear, but when this side-by-side photo circulated the Internet, it was a match made in meme heaven. The Twitter user who shared the pictures wrote, “John Legend looks like Arthur, low-key.” Yes, yes he does.

Things quickly escalated when Chrissy got wind of it. She tweeted a photo of Arthur’s clenched fist with the caption, “John when you tell him he looks like Arthur.” She even followed a Twitter account that jokingly threw shade at John’s yellow Easter sweater because, you know, Arthur never wears anything but a yellow sweater.

This newest shade is just another glimpse inside the quirky, yet loveable relationship between Chrissy and John. As for Luna, she looks very content hanging out with her stuffed Arthur doll — maybe one day she’ll realize that her daddy’s look-alike is not another human but a doll she has known her entire life.
