Colton Underwood Seemingly Responds To Backlash After ‘Bachelor’ Casting — See His Cryptic Tweet!

Whether you like it or not, Colton Underwood is the next Bachelor — and TBH, he doesn’t give two sh–ts about what you think. On Thursday, Sept. 6, the former NFL player seemingly took to Twitter to respond to the backlash he’s received since GMA announced he’d be the star of the next season.

“People hate what they don’t understand & try to destroy it,” he wrote. “Only try to keep yourself clear and don’t allow that destructive force to spoil something that to you is so simple, natural & beautiful.” Well put, my friend.

Fans flooded his tweet with positive messages and words of encouragement. “So excited for you to be the Bachelor!  Really hoping you find your person,” one user wrote, with a second adding, “Never let anyone get you down.”

As to why people aren’t too happy with the casting decision, many fans believed there were other suitors — namely Jason Tartick and Becca Kufrin’s runner-up Blake Horstmann — who were much more deserving. “You chose a kid who is in it for the fame when you could have chosen a real quality guy like Jason, Blake or Peter,” one fan tweeted. “@BachelorABC, you guys have REALLY sucked with picking Bachelor’s the last few seasons. DO BETTER.”

Hopefully people warm up to Colton as the Bachelor once his season starts. The best part of the show is watching the contestants, anyway.
