Blake Lively Purged Her Instagram Followers and Ryan Reynolds Didn’t Make the Cut
This is not a drill — Blake Lively has completely purged her Instagram followers and her husband, Ryan Reynolds, didn't even make the cut. The actress currently follows just 30 people, all of whom are women named Emily Nelson. What's even weirder, is that Blake also took this to Twitter sharing a photo of a completed hangman game that read, "What Happened to Emily?" And now, her Instagram bio consists of the same phrase.
Hmm… So, what is really going on? Although unconfirmed, there's a pretty good theory floating around. The 30-year-old mom of two is set to star in the upcoming film, A Simple Favor — a project she just recently promoted at CinemaCon. This particular movie, which is an adaptation of a book with the same name, follows the story of a woman named Emily Nelson who suddenly disappears and, ironically, that is exactly what Blake did on Instagram.

Fans were quick to notice that Blake had made the drastic change to her Instagram aesthetic. "Um, what the f–k is going on with Blake Lively's Instagram?" one person wrote. Another said, "Walking down Fifth Avenue, absolutely screaming, asking if anyone knows why Blake Lively deleted all of her Instagram photos and unfollowed everyone — including Ryan Reynolds."
Oh yeah, and all of those women named Emily that Blake is now following were freaking out, too. One particular Emily thought it was a joke and wrote, "Does anyone want to tell me why Blake Lively followed me and had this as a bio? Goodbye cruel world, some hacker is anti-Emily, my time has come :-)."

After realizing Blake hadn't been hacked and her Deadpool star husband actually liked this Emily's message on Twitter, she wrote a follow-up tweet. "ALRIGHT SO LONG F–KING LOSERS MY EGO IS ETERNALLY THROUGH THE ROOF. BYE."
Blake has yet to address the buzz, but Anna Kendrick — who also stars in the movie — has given us some serious insight that could mean Blake IS the character of Emily. OK, so get this, on April 27, Anna posted the following image to her Instagram in promotion of A Simple Favor.
Pretty basic, right? Well, on May 2, she shared the same exact image — except something was definitely amiss. By something, we mean someone.
Fortunately, we didn't have to ponder over the mystery for too long! Blake Lively took to Instagram on May 2 as well to share the first teaser trailer for the film, where we were able to gather a few key details. For starters, Blake WILL be playing the role of Emily — the wealthy, elusive best friend of Anna Kendrick's character (whose name we still don't know). At some point, Emily will go missing as a result of foul play. Take a look.
So far, we're beyond intrigued by this mystery thriller with two amazing leading ladies. We can't wait to see it when it comes out. As of now, A Simple Favor has no official release date.
