Gigi Hadid ‘Wants To Be Happy’ In A Relationship Like Her Sister Bella And The Weeknd
After news broke that Gigi Hadid and Zayn Malik split up after three years of dating, a source exclusively tells Life & Style that the model, 23, wishes to have a relationship like the one her sister, Bella Hadid, has with long-time boyfriend, The Weeknd.
“Gigi wants to be in a happy and secure relationship like her sister Bella and The Weeknd, rather than having to deal with constant drama and Zayn’s mood swings,” said the insider. Apparently, her relationship with the former One Direction singer became too much to handle. She even distanced herself from her squad while they were together.
“She cut herself off from all her friends every time they were together. She focused all her time and energy on him, but it just got to be too much,” an additional source told Us Weekly. “She’s really turned into a recluse and has been spending all of her time with him. It’s kind of a young love relationship where they’re so infatuated with each other and no one else exists at the moment.”
Zayn’s mental health may have played a large role in why their relationship was dead in the water. They “tried hard to make it work,” but “Zayn has a lot of his own issues that she couldn’t help him get through,” the source revealed to Us Weekly. So it makes total sense as to why Gigi aspires to have a relationship like her model sister, 22, has with her boo, 28.
Like Zayn and Gigi, Bella and The Weeknd split once. They broke things off in November 2016 after a year of dating and were spotted back together in May 2018. During that time, the R&B singer dated Selena Gomez. However, in their case, it looks like the break was beneficial — the two have been inseparable since their reconciliation. We don’t see why Gigi wouldn’t be able to find someone who perfectly suits her!
