‘I Love LA’ Season 2: Cast, Release Details and Everything Rachel Sennott Has Revealed So Far
HBO clearly knew they had a hit on their hands because I Love LA was renewed for season 2 before season 1 even wrapped — shocking absolutely no one. The buzzy comedy has become one of the network’s “fastest growing original comedies,” averaging close to two million cross-platform viewers after its premiere. Translation: everyone’s watching it, everyone’s obsessed, and yes, HBO wants more.
The series is the brainchild of Rachel Sennott, who also stars as Maia, an overstressed and underpaid social media manager. The show has been compared to Girls for Gen Z, but Sennott prefers calling it “Entourage for internet It girls,” which honestly… fair.
Season 1 follows Maia as she takes on her worst nightmare of a client: Tallulah, played by Odessa A’zion, her former college frenemy turned wildly messy influencer. Their toxic, co-dependent dynamic drives half the show’s drama — and most of its funniest meltdowns.
But I Love LA is really about the group around them: a perfectly dysfunctional friend squad made up of anxious creatives, transplanted millennials and one delightful nepo baby (True Whitaker, daughter of Forrest Whitaker), all figuring out adulthood in Los Angeles one crisis at a time. And yes — Josh Hutcherson is somehow at his most charming yet as Dylan, Maia’s sweet, perpetually underappreciated boyfriend who patiently survives the tornado that is Maia and Tallulah’s friendship.
Has ‘I Love LA’ Been Renewed for Season 2?
Yes! HBO officially renewed the series on November 20, calling it its “second top freshman comedy in platform history.” The network seems very ready for more of Maia’s catastrophes… and so are we.
How Many Episodes Will Season 2 Have?
Season 2’s episode count hasn’t been announced yet. Season 1 includes eight episodes airing weekly on Sundays at 10:30 p.m. ET/PT on HBO and Max, with the finale set for December 21, 2025.
Who’s Returning for Season 2?
Assuming no one shockingly dies or flees Los Angeles for (gasp!) New York, the core cast is expected back: Sennott, A’zion, Whitaker, Hutcherson, and Jordan Firstman as celeb stylist Charlie.
