Bye, negativity. Iggy Azalea deleted her Instagram and Twitter account one day after topless photos of the star were leaked. The racy pictures look to be from a photoshoot she did with GQ Australia back in 2016 — the censored photos are still currently live on the publication’s website. After such a strong breach of privacy, the singer did not want to deal with the drama on social media.

According to a now-deleted statement that the 28-year-old allegedly wrote before deactivating her accounts, Iggy confessed that she was a “ball of negative emotions.” She added that she felted “blindsided, embarrassed, violated, angry, sad and a million other things. Not solely because I did not consent to this — but also because of the vile way people have reacted.”

The songstress couldn’t stand to read any more comments from people about the photos. “The outright wicked things people say is overwhelming & makes me feel like throwing up,” she noted. In the supposed statement written by the “Fancy” artist, she blames the public response as her reasoning for going offline. “I have seen some really vicious s—t written in the last 24 hours and it is too much negativity for me to handle. For now, it’s best to keep my accounts deactivated,” the lengthy message said.

The original GQ photo shoot accompanied a story about Iggy gifting the topless photos to plastic surgeon Dr. Ashkan Ghavami. She even thanked him this past year for her glow up. “Happy birthday [Dr. Ghavami]. It might seem obvious I’d hold the man I owe my fabulous nose and breasts to in high regard,” the “Black Widow” artist captioned a snap of her and her doctor at the time. “But vanity aside; Ash you’re hilarious as hell, talented, eclectic, a progressive thinker & someone who supports women in their choice to do what they want with their OWN bodies (tons of men don’t share that sentiment). So cheers to you! I’m proud to call you my friend.”

Hopefully, a much-needed break from social media is exactly what Iggy needs.
