Jennifer Lopez Reveals She Needed Medical Attention From Plastic Surgeon for AMAs Injury
Jennifer Lopez revealed she needed to see a plastic surgeon after suffering facial injuries while rehearsing for the 2025 American Music Awards.
J. Lo, 55, shared a photo holding an ice pack up to her eye while her face appeared swollen in an Instagram Story on Tuesday, May 13. She followed it up with another snapshot of her bruised cheek and a cut across her nose.
“So, this happened during the AMA rehearsals,” she wrote in two parts across the pictures.
The “Waiting for Tonight” singer explained her recovery in a third Instagram Story while posing next to Beverly Hills plastic surgeon Dr. Jason Diamond.

“Thank you for stitching me up Dr. Diamond. A week later and a whole lotta ice, I’m good as new,” Jennifer wrote under the photo with her face looking flawless again.
J. Lo is hosting the 2025 American Music Awards on May 26. She is returning to the duty for the second time, as she made her debut hosting the awards show in 2015.
“We are thrilled to welcome Jennifer Lopez back to host the American Music Awards,” Jay Penske, CEO of Dick Clark Productions, said on April 9, when announcing J. Lo’s hosting gig. “Jennifer’s incredible talent and incomparable stage presence make her the ideal host of the show. We know she will bring her one-of-a-kind energy to the official kick off celebration of summer.”

In addition to hosting, the “Dinero” singer will be taking the stage for an “unforgettable, can’t-miss performance.” The show will be broadcast live from Fontainebleau Las Vegas and air on CBS.
Jennifer showed off how she’s in such great shape for her performance by baring her ripped abs in several selfies. She sported a cropped sweatshirt and green leggings for her at-home photos, telling fans on May 5, “Push today so you glow tomorrow.”
The snapshots taken at her Los Angeles home were evidence to fans hours ahead of the 2025 Met Gala that J. Lo was taking a pass on the glamorous event after taking on the role of cochair in 2024.
At the time, Jennifer attended solo despite her high-profile role with the gala, which sparked further rumors of trouble in her former marriage to Ben Affleck.
The Gone Girl star, 52, was reportedly busy filming The Accountant 2. However, the buzz that their marriage was having serious issues was further fueled by how sad J. Lo appeared while walking the red carpet without her then-husband.
It wasn’t until the Hustlers star filed for divorce on August 20, 2024, that the reason for her forlorn expression at the Met Gala was explained. Jennifer revealed in her divorce papers that she and Ben separated on April 26, 2024, two weeks ahead of the glamorous fashion event in New York City.
The date of J. Lo’s divorce filing was telling, as it fell on the two-year anniversary of her lavish wedding to Ben at his estate in Georgia. The duo’s divorce was finalized in February by a Los Angeles judge after the pair came to a settlement agreement the month prior.
The exes recently slashed the price of their former marital Beverly Hills mansion by $8 million, hoping to entice buyers after 10 long months of sitting on the market.
The massive 38,000-square-foot estate was originally listed for $68 million in July 2024. As of May 5, real estate listings showed the mansion’s price was considerably reduced to $59,950,000
