Looks like meatballs aren’t as easy to make as one would think! Jersey Shore star Deena Cortese and her husband, Chris Buckner, gave birth to their first child on January 5 and it seems as though they’ve been learning ever since. Welcoming baby Christopher John, a.k.a. CJ, was undoubtedly an adjustment for the couple, but we’re glad to hear they’re loving every second of the huge change. The 32-year-old first-time mama got candid with a follower on Instagram on January 30 about how things have been going in her world of new motherhood.

“Motherhood is def harder than I expected and I never understood [people] telling me while pregnant to get sleep now lol [because] while pregnant I thought I wasn’t getting good sleep,” she wrote in response to a fan’s comment.

“But it’s all so worth it, he’s my little sidekick. We got this,” she continued.

The fan originally commented a funny little warning for Deena and her post-delivery home life.

“Beautiful family,” the fan wrote. “Be warned, after the love there is a period of distaste for them, husband not child. Completely normal and it does pass! I remember telling my husband I hated him at 4 a.m. one day after what felt like weeks without sleep.” LOL, talk about rough.

“I’m def starting to learn how to function on no sleep,” Deena also wrote in her response.

“CJ has been getting better at night but it’s still been a struggle … been almost [four] weeks and we’re just starting to get into a decent routine,” she said.

Deena’s original post, where the exchange took place, was sweet in and of itself.

“Having a baby is like falling in love again. Both with your husband and your child,” she captioned the precious photo of her and Chris with CJ.

The happy couple is clearly overjoyed with their new addition and have been since day one.

“Christopher John Buckner (CJ) born January 5 at 4:41 p.m. at a whopping 20.5 inches..6 lbs 8.5 ounces,” she captioned the original birth announcement on her Instagram.

“[Ugh] mommy and daddy love you so much CJ … you’re our everything, I never thought I could love Chris anymore than I did until I saw him hold CJ,” she wrote. How sweet.

We’re glad to hear that Dee and Chris have started to find a routine in their parenting, because the Jersey Shore star has already started bouncing back in other ways.
