Jessica Simpson Leaves Flirty Comments on Jeremy Renner’s Workout Videos Amid Eric Johnson Split

Jessica Simpson has been getting a little flirty on social media amid her split from Eric Johnson. The singer left a couple of comments on Jeremy Renner’s shirtless workout videos, sparking dating rumors more than a decade after the duo were first romantically linked.

This week, on Monday, March 24, Jeremy, 54, shared a workout video (sans shirt), and he wasn’t alone. Instead, he and his mom were working out together.

“Sunday session with my mama … Rehab, recovery. Got to get her bones strong too! Let’s go Mama! Proud of her doing several circuits today and pushing through her adversity!!” the Avengers: Endgame actor wrote via Instagram. “SHE’S ALL I GOT… so I’m trying to keep her as long as possible My sweet blessing.”

Jessica, 44, popped up in the comments section and added, “I love this oh my … Mama is STRONG … I need to go do sit ups now.”

It all started two weeks ago when Jessica left a single fire emoji as a comment on a video montage of Jeremy hitting the gym and working on his fitness. The Marvel star liked the comment in return, which, of course, set fans’ wheels spinning.

“Y’all liking each other’s posts,” one person replied to Jessica’s comment with a thinking emoji and a smiling hearts emoji added at the end.

On March 21, the “With You” singer celebrated the release of her latest EP, Nashville Canyon, Part 1.

“Beyond grateful and honored to see my EP #NashvilleCanyon not only out in the world today, but also somehow chartin’ at #1 in Country and #10 (now #5!) in All Genres on iTunes!” Jessica captioned a screenshot of the EP’s No. 1 spot on iTunes that she shared via Instagram. “Wow, this actually happens without a label?! This journey has been incredible and I’m so thankful for everyone’s support. Every moment of this journey is hugging me so tight and I couldn’t have done it without y’all.”

Multiple outlets reported that The Town star left a comment that read, “Congrats, Jess!”

Jessica and Jeremy fueled rumors more than a decade after they reportedly hit it off at a party in March 2010.

The actor, however, later denied a romance was brewing, explaining that he and Jessica chatted for just “three minutes.”

“Her hair stylist did my mom’s hair so we were talking about that,” Jeremy reportedly told Us Weekly at the time, “and then all of a sudden we’re dating.”

Jessica has liked several posts of Jeremy’s since January, which was the same month she announced her separation from Eric, 45. She and the former NFL star called it quits after 10 years of marriage and welcoming three children – Maxwell “Maxi” Drew, 12, Ace Knute, 11, and Birdie Mae, 6.

Rumors about their relationship being on the rocks began swirling in the second half of 2024, and in September, fans noticed that Jessica didn’t wish Eric a happy birthday on social media. The following month, in October 2024, an insider revealed to Life & Style that the couple was headed for divorce.

“It’s pretty much over between her and Eric; it’s only a matter of time before she files for divorce,” the insider said at the time. “He’s always been supportive and an amazing father. They tried couples counseling, which worked for a while, but then things went back to the way they were. They don’t spend nearly as much time together as they used to, and they’ve just grown apart.”

Just three months later, Jessica released a statement confirming their split.

“Eric and I have been living separately, navigating a painful situation in our marriage,” she told People. “Our children come first, and we are focusing on what is best for them. We are grateful for all of the love and support that has been coming our way, and appreciate privacy right now as we work through this as a family.”
