The joke is on him! In an exclusive interview with Life & Style, Impractical Jokers star Joe Gatto recalls one of his harshest punishments from his time on the TruTV series — and it definitely sounds like his co-stars and BFFs Sal Vulcano, Brian “Q” Quinn, and James “Murr” Murray really got him good.

“I handle them a little different than everyone else because I look at them as opportunities to make my friends really laugh. I don’t really get embarrassed because my whole life has been one big embarrassment,” the new father-of-two joked.

“There’s been a couple times where the guys got me, there have been so many punishments at this point — but for the most part, it’s been fun. I make them too much fun. One of my favorites was when they made me a genie. They put on a play and I was attached to a flying apparatus, where you get pulled up and fly — so the whole punishment was to destroy this building set, and I was a genie so it was set up with brass urns, and they just threw me around the whole stage. I was wrecking the stage and trying to perform and that was really fun.”

All of a sudden, Joe was in for quite the plot twist. “It was unexpected because I wasn’t supposed to be able to flip over. I was strung up like Peter Pan and wasn’t supposed to go upside down, but they pulled me and I flipped,” he continued. “I thought I was going to fly out of it! I’m trying to perform, I’m pink and purple, my belly is out — very weird and embarrassing in that sense. I never thought something like that would happen to me.”

However, the shameless reality star thinks it’s actually Sal and Murr who get punished the most. “They’re just our local losers who are so easy to get,” he quipped. “I think Q and I have less to punish but their personalities, they’re just super easy. It’s very different because you love to watch Sal get punished because of the reaction like on his body, then Murr is just fun to laugh at when he’s humiliated or scared. There’s just something about him that’s fun to watch and be that way.”
