Andy Cohen Addresses Those Pesky Rumors That He’s Dating John Mayer: “We Have a Sweet Friendship”
Wait a sec — did John Mayer just reveal he’s bisexual? The “Gravity” crooner recently serenaded Andy Cohen on his 50th birthday — which sparked rumors that the two were an item. Luckily, the Watch What Happens Live host opened up about the “love” they have for each other and squashed those dating rumors once and for all.
“Listen, we have a very sweet friendship, and we are together all the time,” Andy told CNN. “I think that I was not surprised because we also have a great love for each other. So, it just seems like the obvious assumption.” He clarified, however, that they’re not an item. “Right [we aren’t dating].”
That said, the single star wouldn’t mind finding someone with the same qualities as his bestie. When asked what he’s looking for in a partner, Andy said, “Someone who is like John Mayer. Just kidding. What am I looking for? I’m looking for someone strong, independent, smart, who has their own thing going on.”
He’s not necessarily looking for someone in the entertainment biz, though. “I would like someone to have their own thing going on,” he dished. “I don’t care, I’m not looking for someone who is in entertainment.”
Earlier this month, John addressed the rumor mill himself after surprising Andy on his show. “Do you think people wonder if we’re in a secret relationship?” he joked about their bromance. Andy added, “All my team does!”
