Julie Chrisley Shuts Down Rumors Husband Todd Chrisley Is Gay: ‘He Knows Who He Is’
The Chrisley family isn’t staying silent about the rumors surrounding Todd Chrisley.
On the September 2 episode of Lifetime’s The Chrisleys: Back to Reality, Julie Chrisley, 52, addressed speculation about her husband’s sexuality head-on. “I know who I’m married to,” she said firmly. “At the end of the day, OK. You can think whatever you want of him because he knows who he is.”
The conversation came after producers reminded viewers of claims made by Todd’s former business associate, Mark Braddock, who alleged he had an affair with the Chrisley Knows Best star. Todd, 56, has always denied the accusations — and even doubled down during a prison phone call featured in the docuseries. “It’s important to understand that in the position that we’re in, scandal sells,” Todd explained, pointing out that Braddock is the “only one” who has ever made such allegations.
Savannah Chrisley also spoke candidly about how she processed the shocking claims. “During the trial, Mark made claims that he had a relationship with my father. We were all like, ‘You got to be effing kidding me,’” the 28-year-old recalled. “Our lawyer said it best: Where’s the text messages? Where’s the phone calls? Where’s the letters? Where’s anything? … I don’t buy it.”
Julie and Todd, who have been married since 1996, share three children together — Chase, 29, Savannah, 28 and Grayson, 19. Todd is also a father to two children from a previous relationship.
The family’s loyalty was echoed by Todd’s former assistant, Tonya Claytor, who defended the couple’s marriage in the series. “I’m very close with Todd,” Tonya said. “I’ve traveled with him. I’ve stayed in his house. I’ve eaten dinner with them. I spend a lot of time with his family. Todd loves Julie. He loves his wife. Todd loves women.”
This isn’t the first time Todd has directly addressed the rumors. Back in January 2023, he joked about Braddock’s accusations during a conversation with his son Chase on the Chrisley Confessions podcast. “What’s insulted me the most is that, out of all these 54 years, for me to finally be accused of being with a man, it would be someone who looked like Mark Braddock,” Todd quipped. “A toad. Someone that looks like a thumb. Someone who says he’s only had sex with his wife and me.”
He didn’t stop there, adding his signature humor to the denial. “Let me tell you something. I could understand if you’d have had sex with me, it would [make] you crazy. I get that. There have been many who have been [dick-mitized] by your daddy.”
