Kate Middleton and Prince William Are ‘Much More Touchy-Feely’ After Her Cancer Battle
Since she completed chemotherapy in September, Princess Kate Middleton has been slowly returning to royal duties — including hosting her annual Royal Carols: Together at Christmas concert on December 6. “This year’s service provides a moment to reflect upon the importance of love and empathy, and how much we need each other,” Kensington Palace said in a statement announcing the return of the Westminster Abbey event. “Especially in the most difficult times of our lives.”
Kate’s own rock during her 2024 cancer battle? Prince William. “It’s safe to say that her health crisis has made Kate and William stronger as a couple — and now they’re more in love than ever before,” an insider exclusively tells Life & Style. “William and Kate have been to hell and back, and it just proves that nothing can break them.”
Indeed, William, 42, described the past months — in which both his 42- year-old wife and his father, King Charles III, 76, were undergoing cancer therapies — as “dreadful,” saying, “It’s probably been the hardest year in my life.”
Difficult as it was, the future king rose to the occasion for Kate and their three children: Prince George, 11, Princess Charlotte, 9, and Prince Louise, 6. Prince William was super supportive; he stepped up in all aspects and was able to balance the family’s day-to-day activities and his royal duties,” says the insider. “Kate was truly amazed. She says she grew fonder of William and they developed an even deeper connection.”
REIGNITING THE SPARK
Interestingly enough, the experience has also brought the romance back for the longtime couple, who met while students at the University of St. Andrews dated nearly a decade before tying the knot in 2011. “Kate would never discuss this publicly, but she finds that the strength William displayed throughout her ordeal has made him more attractive, irresistible even,” dishes the insider. “It definitely helped them find their spark again.”
The beard William has been sporting since October certainly hasn’t hurt matters. Kate has allegedly described his latest look as “quite rousing.” “She loves William with facial hair,” dishes the insider, adding that the duo have seemingly “become much more touchy-feely and affectionate lately than they have been in the past.”
While Kate is eager to close the book on her cancer, she will always be grateful for the lessons fighting the disease has taught her. Says the insider: “It’s given her a new outlook. Her relationship with William was always strong, but now they’re even more united as a couple.”
