From the American Idol stage to the Super Bowl halftime stage? Maybe! Kelly Clarkson showed off her desirable singing talents at the US Open in NYC on Monday, Aug. 27 — and fans still can’t get over her jaw-dropping performance of songs like “Miss Independent,” “Stronger,” and “Since You Been Gone.”

So much so, that many are pleading Kelly — who stunned in a silver tassel-covered dress for the tennis event — perform at the Super Bowl halftime show in February!

“I feel like @kelly_clarkson just submitted her audition for the Super Bowl #USOpen2018,” one fan wrote. Another added, “Why haven’t we had a Kelly Clarkson Super Bowl halftime show yet?” One commented, “Omg @kelly_clarkson performing at the #USOpen50 opening ceremony. The most fitting anthem queen for the 50 yr anniversary. Also this opening is 10000x better than the Super Bowl halftime show – @nfl take note!!!! BOOK THIS QUEEN!!!!”

Oddly enough, Kelly has never addressed performing at the Super Bowl. On top of that, she didn’t really gush over her US Open performance on social media like fans were.

Perhaps that’s because while Kelly loves her music, her kids are always her first priority. “My family comes first. There are days where s–t hits the fan, and I’m crying because there’s not enough time to do everything,” she once shared. “But that’s [every] mom. You’re molding lives and you don’t want to suck at it!” That said, maybe she won’t even have time for the Super Bowl next year.

In addition, Kelly may not be able to fit in the highly-publicized sporting event due to her rumored talk show airing next year. A source previously confirmed to THR that the mom-of-two is shooting a pilot episode for a syndicated daytime talk show set to air in the fall of 2019. Hopefully she can fit in some time before then to impress us all at the football event!
