She’s taking her talents beyond The Voice! Kelly Clarkson has been in talks to host a new talk show after filming a pilot for a syndicated series — and now, the music sensation has confirmed The Kelly Clarkson Show is official

“I love connecting with people, playing games, music and finding ways to help or give back to communities/organizations,” Kelly, 36, said of the upcoming hour-long eponymous show, according to The Hollywood Reporter. “Having my own talk show where I get to do all of these things is pretty much a dream job!” She additionally gushed on The Tonight Show With Jimmy Fallon that she loves talking so much so she can’t wait for the show — and also revealed her band will be on the series with her!

The series — set to air in the fall of 2019 — will take over Steve Harvey’s show Steve’s 2 p.m. EST time slot (it’s uknown at this time if the show is being cancelled or will air at another time) and will also be a lead-in to The Ellen Degeneres Show on NBC Owned TV Station group stations in New York, LA, Chicago, Philadelphia, Dallas-Fort Worth, San Francisco, Miami, San Diego, Hartford and Washington, DC.

“We are very excited to have Kelly Clarkson on our air next fall,” said Valari Staab, president of NBCUniversal Owned Television Stations, via THR. “She’s genuine, warm, fun and interacts with her fans in a meaningful way. Throughout her career people of all ages and backgrounds have related to her openness, honesty and curiosity. She will be the perfect companion to Ellen, providing an afternoon of great television.”

Paul Telegdy, president of  NBC Entertainment’s Alternative and Reality Group, added to THR, “The incomparable Kelly Clarkson takes everything she touches to another level and we couldn’t be happier to bring her talent, humor, generosity, and compassion to daytime next year. With Kelly’s cross-generational appeal and extraordinary ability to understand and connect with viewers, The Kelly Clarkson Show will have something for everyone.”

However, someone in particular allegedly isn’t happy about Kelly’s good news — and that’s Ellen DeGeneres. Ellen recently let Kelly come on her show and play host (watch below!) for a good laugh, but now, she’s reportedly not laughing at the fact that Kelly’s show will seemingly directly compete with The Ellen DeGeneres Show, according to an insider who previously told Life & Style.

“Ellen’s going to put on a brave face and say that she’s happy to have inspired Kelly to become a talk show host,” an insider told the magazine in a previous issue. “But behind the scenes, she’s livid! She can’t believe Kelly, who she considered a good friend, would stab her in the back like this.”

But Ellen is ready for the challenge. “Ellen plays well with others, until you cross the line. This is going to bring out her competitive side for sure,” the source added to Life & Style. “Forget about the late-night talk show wars — the daytime battle has officially begun!”

Kelly is used to being on television, so Ellen can’t blame folks for wanting to see her star on her own show. First off, she kicked off her highly successful career by winning the singing reality competition American Idol in 2002. On top of that, she’s appeared as a guest on many popular talk shows herself other than Ellen, including Live! and The View. She’s also currently a host on the NBC singing competition The Voice — and she apparently loves it!

“She would be a coach every season if they let her,” a source told Life & Style in a previous issue of the magazine. “But she’s also got a lot more lined up — deals and specials with NBC. Kelly now feels like she can do anything.”

Speaking of doing anything, Kelly’s good news comes after the music sensation debuted her 40-pound weight loss this year. According to Life & Style, she’s “really is in a great place” today.

But it took her some time to get there. “She kept it a secret from fans because she wanted to get it under control first,” an insider recently told the news outlet. “Now she feels like she can be an advocate for a healthier lifestyle. This isn’t something she did to get skinny. She did it for her family and for herself.”

It seems like there’s no better time than now for Kelly to start her own talk show if you ask us — and we personally can’t wait to see her on the small screen, whether Ellen likes it or not!
