Kids Music Group The Wiggles Goes Country! ‘Everybody Wants in on It’

You can tell that country music is hotter than ever when even The Wiggles are trying to crash the party.

The Australian kiddie music group that’s delighted children and annoyed parents since it formed in 1991 is now riding the wave of country music’s popularity by getting twangy themselves on their new single “Big Red Ute” — which is Australian slang for utility vehicle.

And while some have called the song a blatant country cash grab by the goofy group — whose hits include “Hot Potato” and “Do the Propeller!” — a source exclusively tells Life & Style it is par for the course these days.

“People were surprised when Post Malone went country and Beyoncé released a country album,” the source says. “It used to be pop music meant popular music, and country was just a subgenre with limited appeal.”

“Now, country music is king, and everybody wants in on it — even The Wiggles!”
