Besides being a reality star, fashion designer and entrepreneur, Kim Kardashian is a master of DIY. The 39-year-old confessed that prior to creating her versatile shapewear, SKIMS, she used to alter the color of other shapewear to match her tan skin perfectly. She couldn’t find shapewear that had a variety of skin tones, including her own.

“It was really important for me because I’m not even that dark, but if I was tan, I could never find a color in my shade,” she told E! News. “And so I would always find myself dyeing my shapewear in tea bags and coffee bags to get a darker skin tone that would blend in more with my skin.” How genius! What can’t this woman do?

Having to go through the struggle of dying shapewear to match her skin is precisely why the Keeping Up With the Kardashians star decided to take matters into her own hands. “So I could only imagine what an issue other people would have not finding their colors if I couldn’t find mine,” she continued. “I really wanted to come up with a solution for that.” Since creating the shapewear, Kim has branched out and even created body tape, which is perfect for when you want to show off cleavage without wearing a bra.

What’s next for Keeks? Well, she’s considering diving into men’s fashion by possibly launching a line for them. “I have been asked a lot about the men’s question and I would love to do that and I hope that we’re working on that soon,” she promised. That shouldn’t be too much of a struggle considering her husband, Kanye West, is a fashion king himself.

Besides, the married couple, who share four children — North, Saint, Chicago and Psalm — make a pretty great team.
