Kim Kardashian stepped out solo on the red carpet for this year’s Met Gala, and the notoriously extra star didn’t come to play. Sure, she may not have leaned as hard into the theme as stars like Rihanna did (although we’re pretty sure only one superstar is allowed to play the part of the pope at the Heavenly Bodies: Fashion and the Catholic Imagination themed event), but she also didn’t completely miss the mark like baby sisters Kendall and Kylie Jenner. Instead, she perfectly incorporated the night’s aesthetic into her glam gown, working the religious imagery into her golden dress and simple jewelry. She’s got a history of slaying on Met Gala Monday, but this year she truly outdid herself.

The look is Versace, perfectly tailored to her figure, and must have her younger sisters kicking themselves. When it comes to “heavenly bodies,” she’s pulling it off in all kinds of ways. Her appearance at the event comes on the heels of a well-time throwback photo earlier in the day. “Catholic School Girl 8th Grade,” she captioned the pic, and we can’t help but wonder if she was flipping through old shots for a little extra inspiration for tonight’s event.

She’s also stepping out with husband Kanye West, who’s been getting his fair share of flack on social media after a sudden (and passionate) return to Twitter. Though she’s been vocally defending him on the platform, behind the scenes it seems she’s already working towards divorce. “She’s relieved to have a prenup in place,” an insider exclusively revealed to Life & Style. “[Kanye] is known for spending money like water, and his finances have been up and down for years. With him acting up right now, she’s afraid he’ll make irrational decisions and splash out millions on anything and everything. She’s spent years building her brand and is determined to protect her assets no matter what it takes.” But when it came to her Met Gala gown, well, we’re sure she spared no expense. Hey, some things are worth it. Twitter rants? Not so much.
