Just because Keeping Up with the Kardashians is best-known for being about family drama, doesn’t mean that the reality TV series doesn’t deal with serious issues. In fact, during the latest season 17 trailer, Kim Kardashian reveals that she may have Lupus.

During the emotional scene, a teary-eyed Kim, 38, tells her mother, Kris Jenner, that she “probably has Lupus.” Being the nurturing momager we all know and love, Kris, 63, reminds the KKW Beauty mogul to “stay positive” and wait for results.

While the clip doesn’t go into any further detail about Kim’s possible diagnosis, her declaring, “I can feel it in my bones,” is pretty ominous. Here’s hoping that Kim’s reaction was nothing more than nerves.

As per Mayo Clinic, “Lupus is a systemic autoimmune disease that occurs when your body’s immune system attacks your own tissues and organs. Inflammation caused by lupus can affect many different body systems — including your joints, skin, kidneys, blood cells, brain, heart and lungs.”

One A-lister who has dealt with the unfortunate disease is Selena Gomez. The former Disney Channel star, 27, was diagnosed with Lupus in 2015. As a result, Selena later had to receive a kidney transplant from her longtime friend Francia Raisa.

“So I found out I needed to get a kidney transplant due to my Lupus and was recovering,” Selena wrote on Instagram in September 2017. “It was what I needed to do for my overall health.”

I’m very aware some of my fans had noticed I was laying low for part of the summer and questioning why I wasn’t promoting my new music, which I was extremely proud of. So I found out I needed to get a kidney transplant due to my Lupus and was recovering. It was what I needed to do for my overall health. I honestly look forward to sharing with you, soon my journey through these past several months as I have always wanted to do with you. Until then I want to publicly thank my family and incredible team of doctors for everything they have done for me prior to and post-surgery. And finally, there aren’t words to describe how I can possibly thank my beautiful friend Francia Raisa. She gave me the ultimate gift and sacrifice by donating her kidney to me. I am incredibly blessed. I love you so much sis. Lupus continues to be very misunderstood but progress is being made.
