Loverboy Founder Kyle Cooke Caught Drinking Truly Seltzer Years After Hannah Berner Feud
Kyle Cooke sparked a bit of shock after being photographed shotgunning a Truly Hard Seltzer — despite being the co-owner of rival beverage company Loverboy. Fans were also quick to point out the irony, given his and Summer House alum Hannah Berner’s past drama over a Truly ad.
The 43-year-old was snapped holding a Truly can on its side, rocking a black T-shirt and a backwards baseball cap, with pictures claiming he was out partying at 5:35 a.m. While the origin of the photos is unclear, Cooke’s wife, Amanda Batula, clarified that the images are not from the night she said he slept at a fan’s house until 6:30 a.m.
Cooke’s journey with Loverboy has been heavily documented on Summer House, and his feud with Berner goes back to Season 5 of the Bravo show. Berner, once Batula’s best friend, later claimed that doing a Truly ad in 2021 led to her getting fired from the show.
“The truth is beef started ’cause I did an ad for Truly [Hard] Seltzer, and I didn’t know that I, like, wasn’t allowed to,” she told the BFFs podcast in July 2024.
But she insisted, “Bravo didn’t fire me… some people on the cast got annoyed at [me], and then it kind of snowballed. I think some of these shows become a lot of egos. It’s like, ‘It’s my show. It’s my drink. You can’t do that.’ And there’s no rules, and it just becomes fighting over egos and screen time, and it’s not that fun after doing it for too many seasons.”
Cooke later denied Berner’s claims in an interview with Page Six. “I have nothing to do with casting,” he said. “I’m flattered anyone thinks I could have that kind of pull, but clearly, I don’t have any control over what Bravo does.”
On Tuesday, Cooke also addressed his wife’s claim that he stayed at a fan’s apartment, which was teased in the Season 10 trailer for Summer House. “There’s no excuse for staying out as late as I did, but I want to be clear that I did not sleep at a fan’s apartment,” he told People.
“I was at an event that Amanda chose not to attend, which moved to a bar and then to an after-party. I don’t use anything to keep myself wired, so I think I ended up falling asleep on a couch, and suddenly it was almost 6 a.m. Do I regret the situation? Absolutely. But that’s the truth and full extent of what happened.”
So, no, he did not sleep at a fan’s apartment — he fell asleep at a fan’s apartment! See the difference? No? Same here.
