Laguna Beach’s Talan Torriero Reacts to Kristin Cavallari Shading His Behavior on Her Podcast Tour
Looks like the drama didn’t stay in high school. Laguna Beach alum Talan Torriero reacted to Kristin Cavallari shading his behavior when he and the cast reunited during her “Let’s Be Honest” podcast tour in March.
Kristin, 38, appeared on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon on Monday, March 5, while promoting her upcoming E! reality series, Honestly Cavallari: The Headline Tour. The show will follow the former Hills star as she navigates her six-stop podcast tour. Kristin brought out most of her Laguna Beach costars during the Chicago show, leading Jimmy to ask her how it was to rekindle friendships with old friends.
“Some of your friends from Laguna Beach showed up and joined you on stage. Was that fun?” Jimmy asked Kristin, who replied, “I don’t know if fun is the right word.”
“No, you know what? When you get your whole high school crew together, everyone gets nervous, everyone starts drinking,” she continued. “I felt like I was back in high school.”
Kristin shared that “the wheels started falling off” once the group got on stage.
“Talan in particular,” she added. “He was just really coming for me and giving me a hard time.”
Talan, 38, “stitched” a clip of the interview via TikTok on Tuesday, May 6, and reacted by looking into the camera with a dumbfounded look on his face and sighing as he was speechless.
The trailer of the upcoming E! series featured Talan during an awkward moment between him and Kristin on stage.
“I feel like you need to stop thinking with your chi chi,” Talan said into the microphone, leading Kristin to shout, “What the f–k?”
The scene cut to a moment of the Uncommon James founder in the car talking to bestie Justin Anderson about male guests that have been rude to her during a show.
“These guys get nervous, right? Their go-to is to put me down,” Kristin said.
Later, one of Kristin’s crew members on the tour told her that a few of her male guests “ripped their mics off” after they exited the stage.
Fans who watched the Honestly Cavallari: The Headline Tour trailer chimed off in the comments section of Talan’s TikTok post, which created a clear divide between #TeamKristin and #TeamTalan.
“Imagine hating on Talan and he’s literally just living in Nebraska,” one fan wrote, as a second added, “Talan spill the tea!! We got your back!”
Meanwhile, others thought his words to Kristin were harsh and uncalled for.
“I saw all the clips and it was def not giving off friendly vibes. Thought the guys were a little harsh,” a third fan commented.
A fourth person revealed,” I was there Talan, you would not let her speak and keep going!”
Talan appeared on seasons 1 and 2 of Laguna Beach in 2004 and 2005. His friendship with Kristin blossomed after she and ex-boyfriend Stephen Colletti broke up, leading them to date briefly.
In November 2022, Kristin reunited with Lauren Conrad on Stephen’s podcast “Back to the Beach.” During the episode, the former enemies revealed that their love-triangle with Stephen was blown out of proportion, and they had both been hooking up with Talan instead.
