Sober StatusLala Kent Blames Alcohol ‘100 Percent’ For Her Brief Breakup From Randall Emmett
Reality star Lala Kent has been doing her best to lay off alcohol lately. The Vanderpump Rules star has been open about her ongoing journey with sobriety and now a source revealed to Radar Online that she blames drinking “100 percent” for why she and her fiancée, Randall Emmett, briefly split before getting engaged. Life & Style reached out to Lala’s team for comment but did not hear back by the time of publication.
Details about the couple’s surprising fall out are currently being played out on the new season of the Bravo show. Fans were shocked when footage showed Lala crying to Brittany Cartwright about needing space from her beau. Luckily, the two have found their way back to each other and things are seemingly going a lot better between the couple. “Randall and her are in a really good place now and she does not want to mess it up. She is in love with him,” the insider gushed.
“Whenever she feels like she is slipping, Randall reminds her of how out of control and crazy she gets when she is drinking … He doesn’t want to see her like that, and neither does anyone else. The cast are all really proud of her,” the source explained.
Back in December, the starlet revealed that she had been sober for 42 days. “I felt like I was falling into a pattern. But I am actually, for real now, completely sober. I’ve never been happier. So I know it’s something I’ll have to deal with on a day-to-day basis, but it’s the right decision for me,” she told Cosmopolitan.
“Drinking for me was medication instead of celebration. Instead of going and talking to somebody about losing someone extremely important to you, we turn to things to medicate,” she continued while reflecting on the tragic passing of her father, Kent Burningham, last year.
Although the starlet hasn’t given any sobriety updates in the past couple of months, it seems like she’s enjoying time with the love of her life.
