So sad. Devin Lima, best known as a singer in the ’90s boy band LFO, is dead at 41 years old, Life & Style can confirm. The “Summer Girls” singer passed away on Wednesday, Nov. 21, after a long battle with Stage 4 cancer.

“My son. He has passed away. He was struggling for 13 months since his diagnosis,” Devin’s mother, Filomena Lima, said in a statement to Radar. “We are not good. I’m not good. He passed about 2:45 in the morning. He is in Florida, his fiancée was living with him, that’s how we found out.”

Devin kept his fans updated on his cancer journey via updates on social media. In October 2017, he revealed that he would be undergoing surgery to remove a massive tumor and his kidney. Just one week after the cancer removal procedure, he was diagnosed with Stage 4 adrenal cancer. Devin’s bandmate, Brad Fischetti shared an update on Devin’s “really rare, one-in-a-million” diagnosis with fans in a YouTube video.

“[Devin] asked me to send you his love and gratitude for all the love and prayers you guys have sent his way,” Brad said in the clip. “He’s had a tough recovery and a few really difficult days in the hospital. Thankfully he’s home now resting and healing.” Brad also revealed that Devin would be undergoing chemotherapy and radiation, and he also was taking medicine to fight the disease.

Last night we sat on the porch, enjoying the cool fall evening and reminiscing on the Rich in Love Tour. We both agree that it was among the best and most fun experiences we have ever had. Bittersweet because Rich wasn’t with us, although we know he was with us in spirit. Beautiful because we got to tour again with our 4th member and brother, Mike Caputo. Couple that with the fact that we were touring with some of our favorite people in Floyd, Alan, Craig, Cassese, Mika, Kyle, The Duprees, and Fish. We are so thankful to YOU for coming out to see us play and for giving us some of the best memories of our lives. Here are some of our favorite pics from the tour with Caputo and a throw back circa 2001. You’ll see our good good friend Joe Kelly in one of the pics, too. Much love to you and many many thanks for helping us realize dreams. ❤️

LFO is best known for their 1999 hit, “Summer Girls.” Brad remains the only surviving original member of the group, in 2010 — lead singer Rich Cronin died at 36 years old after a long battle with leukemia.

Brad and Devin reunited after Rich’s death and they continued to tour, and earlier this month, the band shared a series of throwback photos from their 2017 Rich In Love tour with their fans on Instagram. “Last night we sat on the porch, enjoying the cool fall evening and reminiscing on the Rich in Love tour. We both agree that it was among the best and most fun experiences we have ever had,” the caption read. “Bittersweet because Rich wasn’t with us, although we know he was with us in spirit. Beautiful because we got to tour again with our 4th member and brother, Mike Caputo. Much love to you and many many thanks for helping us realize dreams.”

Our thoughts are with Devin’s family and friends during this difficult time.
