Love Is Blind’s Alex Byrd Finally Reveals What Happened During Her Fight With Tim Godbee in Cabo
Love Is Blind star Alex Byrd finally revealed what went down during the argument between her and ex-fiancé Tim Godbee while they were in Cabo San Lucas.
“What you didn’t get to see was a verbal disagreement,” Alex, 33, said during the season 7 reunion that aired on Wednesday, October 30. “As you saw, I’m very close to my family, and my dad had been admitted to a rehab facility a week before I left [to film Love Is Blind]. Being three weeks not talking to them, it just kind of weighed in on me at that moment, and I just wanted space.”
Alex continued, “Go to bed, take a shower, go to bed, that’s literally all I wanted to do. Unfortunately, I wasn’t given the space that I was wanting, which turned into a disagreement. Simple as that.”
When host Nick Lachey asked Tim, 33, to weigh in, he clarified that he didn’t want it to “come across” that there was “actually any animosity” between himself and Alex. He said that he “still wished her the best.” However, he gave his version of the events that caused their fight to transpire.
“She had left before me at the pool party, and I was trying to catch her,” Tim explained. “I could tell she was upset so in my head, I’m thinking, ‘OK, this is my fiancée. I want to be there for her.’ So, I approach her and say, ‘Hey, are you OK? What’s going on?’ We’re in this hotel bathroom Everything’s been good to this point for me.”
Tim then addressed Alex, “You’re crying on the floor so I’m trying to be there for you.”
The web content strategist said that he “understood” that Alex was “upset about something with her family,” but he was also “trying to figure out what was going on.” Tim claimed it was then that their conversation took a turn.
“It quickly [turned] contentious, and it got to the point where, yes, I did feel like things got out of hand from a boundary standpoint,” Tim continued.
He also explained that Alex did put hand over his mouth, something that she admitted during their time in Cabo, and said that she called him “something other than the name [he] was given on this earth.”

Alex took the opportunity to explain that she in no way “physically assaulted” Tim, which he “attested” to as well.
“I’m literally put in a position where I’m trying to prevent production [from coming in and seeing] this fight, like, this argument we’re having,” Alex said. “I don’t want it to seem like we’re in a bad space or that I don’t want cameras to come in and make him look bad. Simple as that. I was trying to protect him. I just wanted to de-escalate the entire situation so that we could just go to sleep and revisit it in the morning.”
The former couple did not see eye-to-eye regarding the details of their fight and Tim said he was mostly upset because Alex called him something other than his name. When asked what she called him, Alex replied, “Well, he was disrespecting me for over an hour so I called him a little-ass bitch.”
Alex and Tim were just one of several couples that didn’t make it to the altar during Love Is Blind season 7. Tim broke off the engagement with Alex after she took a nap while his parents were in town to meet her. Since then, Tim and Alex have both said that they are no longer in touch and they aren’t “friendly” with one another.
