When it comes to dating, Lucy Hale knows exactly what she wants. The 30-year-old revealed what must-have qualities her future man should possess, and they’re relatable AF.

“You know what, dating is so hard,” she told Life & Style and other reporters at the Critics’ Choice Awards presented by FIJI water on Sunday, January 12. “I think just like what I’m looking for in life now is just simple.  Be a good person.  Love what you do.  Be a gentleman.  Don’t be a d–k. And be funny.” Not bad at all!

Just because Lucy is single though, doesn’t mean she isn’t embracing it. In February 2019, the brunette beauty shared a photo of a meaningful tattoo on her arm, which gave a glimpse of her current outlook on love. “I got this tattoo recently as a symbol of self-love,” she wrote in a now-deleted Instagram post on Valentine’s Day. “And that’s what this last year has been about … being alone (but not lonely), not settling, truly finding my inner light and loving who I am.”

Lucy continued, “This Valentine’s Day while I don’t have a significant other, I am so happy with the place I’m in and unbelievably grateful for the overflowing love I have in my life from my family and friends. Happy Valentine’s Day to myself and to you.” That’s goals right there!

The Pretty Little Liars alum has also used her platform to empower women, and that includes standing up against body-shamers. In September 2017, the actress slammed a troll who made a rude comment about her slim figure. “No straight men are signing off on that anorexic look,” read the person’s tweet. “That’s for gay guys and fashionistas. We want you to please eat a hamburger.”

Lucy had the perfect response. She wrote, “As someone who used to struggle with anorexia, I don’t take these comments lightly. I’m healthy and happy and you don’t know me. Just another insecure man hiding behind a computer screen. Boy BYE.” Yes, girl!
