Came through dripping! Cardi B arrived at the 2019 Met Gala looking like literal straight fire, marking her second time that she’s attended the prestigious ball. The 26-year-old rapper definitely got the memo for this year’s “Camp: Notes on Fashion”-themed event with her very campy, blood-red look.
Cardi wore an all-red gown with a dramatic, over-the-top train that billowed behind her on the pink carpet. The gown also had very exaggerated shoulders and she completed the look with a bejeweled headpiece.
Cardi’s wore a long-sleeved, floor-length fitted gown with a thigh-high slit, completely covered in jewels and pearls, with a belted satin overskirt that added even more drama for a ball-gown silhouette. As if that wasn’t enough, she wore a matching bedazzled choker and headpiece and gloves to complete the over-the-top maternity look.
This year allowed Cardi to dress her body after her impressive post-baby weight loss. In the months leading up to the Met Gala, she flaunted her abs in sexy outfits — and she bared her toned tummy in two different looks during the 2019 Billboard Music Awards on May 1.
But just days before the Met Gala, the “I Like It” rapper performed at the Beale Street Music Festival in Memphis, where she let the audience in on a little secret that helped her achieve a perfectly flat tummy.
“I have some news for y’all. I should have canceled today,” Cardi told concertgoers on Saturday, May 4, according to several outlets. “I shouldn’t really be performing because moving too much is gonna f–k up my lipo. But bitch, I’m still gonna get my motherf—ing money back, let’s go!”
