ExclusiveJoan Vassos Opens Up About Her and Chock Chapple’s Long Engagement, Shares Wedding Timeline Update

The Golden Bachelorette alum Joan Vassos opens up about her and Chock Chapple’s long engagement and shares a wedding timeline update during an exclusive interview with Life & Style.

“I just don’t feel like planning a wedding right now,” Joan, 62, exclusively tells Life & Style while discussing her partnership with Aspercreme. “We’ve been so busy and just being a couple and not having any pressure on us just feels good. And we get to just get to know each other and enjoy each other’s company.”

Joan continues, “Rushing into a wedding just seems like another thing I have to do, not that I want to do. And so we’re fine.”

The TV personality adds that she and Chock, 61, aren’t facing similar pressures as couples that get married at a younger age. “It’s not like we have a biological clock. We’re not, you know, trying to have kids. We’re not trying to establish a life together,” Joan explains. “We both have, like, really good lives and, you know, we’re fine living in each other’s worlds, you know, for the time being.”

“I’m just not in a big rush and neither is he,” Joan says about their upcoming wedding. “We’re fine. We know we’re gonna do it. It’s gonna happen.”

While Joan and Chock haven’t set a date for their wedding, she insists that “it won’t be two years.” She continues, “I can guarantee that. But, you know, we’re not in a rush to, like, plan the wedding.”

Fans watched Joan and Chock get engaged during the season 1 finale of The Golden Bachelorette, which aired in November 2024.

“We’re enjoying the moment,” Joan continues about the current state of their relationship. “For the first time we get to actually be in the moment.”

After noting that the early days of their relationship were so “secretive” because the show was still airing, Joan says that she and Chock are getting used to having a more conventional relationship. “I can … meet his friends and go out to dinner and just do the mundane things that you do when you’re dating initially,” she says. “We never did those things. So we’re kind of moving backwards and then we’ll move, you know, forward to the wedding.”

In addition to sharing an update about her and Chock’s relationship, Joan also opens up about her partnership with Aspercreme. Through the partnership, Joan has set out to shatter stereotypes about aging and redefine what it means to “act your age.”

Joan explains that she has always viewed age as “just a number,” and Aspercreme makes it easier for her to stay active and feel her best.

“I’m about to go to Mexico with my fiancé and I thought, ‘You know what? I need to get this bathing suit body a little better.’ So I started doing workouts and it killed my left hip and I used the spray Aspercreme with the lidocaine,” she shares. “And I went to sleep at night and I woke up the next morning. I’m like, it didn’t, that didn’t hurt me all night.”

She adds of the product, “That’s kind of a game changer for me because it allows me to do the things that I wanna do and without thought of like, ‘I’m gonna have pain.’ And you can also use it, like, anytime and anywhere because it has no odor.”
