We all mess up from time to time, right? Nev Schulman and his wife, Laura Perlongo, have their fair share of cringeworthy stories when it comes to parenting their daughter, Cleo James. But don’t worry, she is doing just fine! The couple is preparing to welcome baby number two in just a month, but they took some time to sit down with Life & Style and dished about their ~great~ parenting skills. Laura experiences “pregnancy brain” at times, which is fairly common, so she doesn’t always remember her phone, keys, or wallet. “I put Cleo down to sleep and I had to go to the car to get something and I realized after the door closed that my keys were in the apartment and it locks on its own,” she recalled. “So, I had locked myself out of the apartment with Cleo inside sleeping.” OMG! “I did have my cell phone, but for some reason, AT&T doesn’t work where we are living. By the time the locksmith came, it was three and a half hours. I was wearing something inappropriate, just like in my underwear and a t-shirt in the hallway.” Welp, at least she can laugh about it now!
The Catfish star also confessed that his daughter made an innocent mistake when they were at a store together. “We were downtown at a kid’s store and Cleo, who is remarkably potty trained, said to me, ‘Pee pee!’ I turned right to the woman. I said, ‘Can we use your bathroom?’ She said, ‘Oh, not really. There are some boxes. There is one across the street.’ I go to pick up Cleo and she already peed on the floor,” he confessed. Aw, well, better luck next time?!
Cleo is gearing up to become a big sister and since she loves the movie Boss Baby so much, she is fully expecting her baby brother to come out talking in a suit. “She has become very familiar with the concept of a small child coming into the home and there being some conflict, but in the end some resolution,” the MTV star said. “We have acclimated her to the idea that essentially now we have to bring home our son in a tuxedo.” The couple are even contemplating buying their little guy a suit onesie, which would be amazing.
It looks like Cleo is going to be a good big sister too, as she “kisses” Laura’s belly every day and tells it “good morning.” She’s a natural already!
