Meghan Markle’s BFF Daniel Martin Cries Over Her Negative Press: ‘She Doesn’t Deserve All This’
Best friend to the rescue. Meghan Markle‘s close friend Daniel Martin got real about the Duchess of Sussex during the upcoming CBS special, Meghan and Harry Plus One — and the celebrity makeup artist defended the 37-year-old over her bad press.
“What’s so frustrating is that you hear these stories and there’s no truth to them,” the beauty guru told Gayle King, another of Meg’s close friends who hosted the special. “It’s not the same person. In the years I’ve known her, the years I’ve worked with her, she’s never had a diva fit. Never.”
Believe it or not, the makeup megastar broke down over the unfair treatment of his longtime pal. “I know she doesn’t deserve all this negative press,” he said through the tears. Talk about a devoted friend. It’s no secret Meg has dealt with her fair share of negative attention, so we bet she appreciates her close confidant going to bat for her.
Daniel and Meghan go way back and the artist even did the royal’s glam on her wedding day. So sweet. He has clearly been a huge source of support for the duchess throughout her pregnancy, even fawning over her baby shower favors — which included adorable baby-centric cookies and floral arrangements created by guests for charity.
Being close with the duchess has its perks … like having a hunch that her husband, Prince Harry, was going to be the perfect dad.
“He’s so good with kids,” he revealed. “When they were doing the family portrait after the wedding with everybody, he was on the floor playing with the kids. And that’s when I knew he was going to be the coolest dad.”
We can’t wait to see all the great things to come for Meg, Harry, and their new family.
