Nicola Coughlan Introduces the Newest and Youngest Member of the ‘Bridgerton’ Family

As Bridgerton fans gear up for the newest season of the show in the new year, a new addition is being welcomed into the family.

The previous season left off with a marriage and flash forward to parenthood for Penelope Featherington (played by Nicola Coughlan) and Colin Bridgerton (played by Luke Newton) or “Polin” as the fans have dubbed them.

Now it seems that the newest cast member, “Baby Whistedown,” will play an important role in the upcoming season.

In a new Instagram post, Coughlan has given fans a sneak peek at the season by introducing them to her character’s son.

The actress shared a photo of her holding the smiling baby actor alongside a caption reading, “Introducing Elliot Bridgerton – the new Lord Featherington aka Baby Whistledown, he’s very excited to meet you all on January 29th when @bridgertonnetflix returns to @netflix”

In the comments, fans were loving the reveal, commenting on how adorable the baby is.

“This is genuinely the cutest baby I’ve ever seen 😍 great job! Can’t wait to see more 👏💛,” one fan commented.

“POLIN BABY ELLIOT BRIDGERTON. LORD FEATHERINGTON. OH MY HEART 😭🫶🏽,” another fan said on the post.

The official Bridgerton Instagram account also posted the photo of Coughlan holding the baby alongside a mock announcement from “Lady Whistledown” welcoming baby Elliot.

“It would seem with each passing season, the Bridgerton family only continues to grow,” the note read. “Since last season, Mr. Colin Bridgerton and Mrs. Penelope Bridgerton (née Featherington) have welcomed their first child. A beautiful, joyous little boy, and heir to the Featherington title.”

The new season of Bridgerton will premiere on Netflix in two parts, with Part 1 on January 29, 2026, and Part 2 on February 26, 2026.
