‘Double Shot at Love’ Star Pauly D Says Dating as a Dad Makes Him ‘More Selective’

Pauly’s history with women is, er, interesting … to say the least. During his stint on the OG MTV series he was notorious for hooking up with a different girl every night. However, very few ladies got the honor of being his one and only — especially after his daughter, Amabella, was born in 2014. 

“For me, it makes me more selective,” Pauly said of dating as a dad. “Being a father, you actually have to meet the two most important women in my life, which are my mother and my daughter.”

“So, I’m very selective in that and it’s always in the back of my mind,” he continued. “I have to find somebody that I potentially see a future with for myself and a role model for my daughter, as well.”

D’aw, what a gem! Both Pauly and 31-year-old Vinny alike seem ready to settle down once and for all. In fact, the pair explained exactly why now is their time for ~true love~ during the season premiere sneak peek.

“We’ve been finding love for 10 years together in the club but now we’re gonna take it to the next level,” Vinny declared.

“Seriously, I have so much going on like on tour, deejaying the world, I don’t have time to find that special somebody,” Pauly added.

“I’m at that point right now in my life where I’m financially secure, I’m happy with myself, I’d like to share my life with somebody … but it’s very different now that I have a daughter. Not just anybody is gonna meet my daughter,” Pauly reiterated.

“I’ve lived a crazy life. For the last, like, 10 years, I’ve been on TV and having a lot of sex. But now, I definitely yearn for a real, meaningful relationship,” Vinny confessed.

Of course, being with a celebrity comes with its own set of challenges! “If I’m going to find love, I have to show these girls what my lifestyle is like and I could see if they can hang with me or not,” Pauly noted.

Vinny, on the other hands, has a different set of issues entirely. “Pauly is obviously a different kind of boyfriend than I am. Number one, he has a lot more money than me,” he quipped.

”So, it would be nice to have what my mom gives me, but in like in my significant other. I want someone to take care of me, to understand me. I’m a complex creature,” the self-proclaimed Keto Guido concluded.

If you’re thinking about sending that guy you like a risky text, Vinny says that emojis “have really helped the sexting game.” Unsurprisingly, Pauly nodded in agreement.

When it comes to who should have to pay for dinner, it looks like Pauly and Vinny are both in agreement that it should be the guy! “I’m old school,” Pauly said. However, both gents think that the girl should at least offer. We can support that.
