Penn Badgley and Wife Domino Kirke Welcome Identical Twin Boys: See the Announcement!
Penn Badgley officially has his hands full — he’s now a dad of three little boys!
The You star, 38, slyly revealed the exciting news that he and his wife, Domino Kirke, welcomed identical twin boys. Penn announced their arrival in an Instagram video on Wednesday, September 3, while promoting his upcoming book Crushmore, which he co-wrote with his “Podcrushed” cohosts Nava Kavelin and Sophie Ansari.
“Interrupting twin paternity leave to announce a live event @podcrushed at @symphonyspace Oct 14 NYC supporting the release of our book CRUSHMORE. Truly proud of this one. Please check it out! @podcrushed for all info,” he captioned the clip.
In the video, Penn whispered his announcement before turning the camera to show the tiny feet of one of his newborn sons. “There’s tiny little baby feet right there,” he said softly. “I don’t want to wake them up.”
Domino, 41, also hinted at the twins’ arrival beforehand, sharing a photo of her baby bump on Instagram Stories with a peace hand sign emoji resting on top of it. The new additions join the couple’s 4-year-old son, plus Domino’s 16-year-old son Cassius from a previous relationship.
Penn has been candid about the responsibility of raising boys. While attending the red carpet for the final season of You, the Easy A actor opened up to Access Hollywood about the pressure he and Domino feel. “They’re identical boys, so now we have four boys,” he shared. “You know, I do mean this sincerely. It sounds a bit tacky, but the world needs more good men, so you know, pressure’s on us to raise them well.”
When asked about his biggest dad strength, Penn admitted, “Well, it’s my patience until I’ve lost it, and then I’m just as bad as anybody else. But, I can be very patient.”
Even before the twins’ arrival, the Gossip Girl star confessed on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon back in May that the reality of raising twins hadn’t quite sunk in yet. “I mean, it’s thrilling. Obviously, it’s a nice dose of reality, like every time I see the sonogram, it just feels so good,” he told Fallon. “Also, as an only child, that’s touching to see them together. They’re in there like it’s a hot tub.”
He added, “There’s a sonogram of them almost like facing each other, just kind of like this. I cannot fathom what it would be like to have somebody with you in there. You know what I mean? And, I’m going to be parenting them? I’m going to have to raise them.”
