Oh, Pete Davidson, what are we going to do with you? During the Season 44 premiere of Saturday Night Live, Pete made a not-so-well-received joke about switching Ariana Grande‘s birth control with Tic Tacs. His even less funny rationalization? “I believe in us and all, but I just want to make sure that she can’t go anywhere,” the 24-year-old quipped. Yikes.

To be fair, we understand that Pete wasn’t being literal, however, this is just one of many crude statements he’s made at his fiancée’s expense in the past few weeks. Needless to say, fans of the “God is a woman” singer are over it. TBH, the whole world is over it, Pete.

“Pete Davidson jokes about terrorist attacks, feels bad for a man that groped Ari on live TV, may or may not hide her birth control to trap her, is obsessed with updating us about the stage of her vag, and doesn’t pay rent. Ari, please, baby girl. This is not the one, two, or the three. Run!” one user commented on Twitter

“Generally, I thought Pete Davidson was funny, but until birth control sabotage stops being a common form of abuse and way abusers trap women in dangerous relationships, I’m not going to laugh at that joke,” added another. One fan summed it up pretty perfectly: “Every time Pete Davidson talks about his relationship with Ariana Grande, it makes me cringe so hard. That birth control ‘joke’ on SNL? Yeah… stop that.”

It looks like Pete is one tone-deaf joke away from losing the respect of Ariana’s fan base altogether. Here’s hoping he comes up with some better material — and fast! As to how Ari feels about her man’s joke? The 25-year-old has yet to comment. We’d imagine that she’s double checking her birth control these days, though. Just sayin’.
