Our hearts continue to break for Ariana Grande. On Sept. 27, the “God is a woman” singer took to Twitter to share a series of deeply concerning tweets regarding her current emotional state. Her posts were so dark, in fact, that they left the internet fearing for her immediate safety. Additionally, many wondered what exactly happened to prompt this breakdown. “Can I pls have on okay day. Just one. Pls,” the 25-year-old began.

“I’m so tired pls,” Ari added. She then quote tweeted something that she had previously written about how “everything will be okay,” now adding, “j f—ing k.”

Naturally, fans were distraught to see the normally light-hearted and bubbly icon so distressed. After receiving thousands and thousands of messages, Ari replied to one fan to clear things up: “Ur angels in my life. It’s just been a tough month. I’m trying to get my work done and get back to normal and it’s hard and I’m human and tired. Sorry I let u in or worried u. I shouldn’t have tweeted. I kno better.”

Ariana’s tweets come just three weeks after the death of her ex-boyfriend, Mac Miller. The “Self Care” rapper was just 26 years old when he died from an apparent drug overdose. He and Ari dated for two years before calling it quits in May. Unfortunately, Ariana received a great deal of backlash at the expense of Mac’s fans, who accused the pop star of being responsible for her longtime love’s tragic passing.

While we can’t be certain that Mac’s passing is the reason behind Ariana’s tweets, it does seem likely. Sources have suggested that the pop star is having an extremely difficult time coping with her grief. “Ariana is absolutely devastated,” an insider revealed to Life & Style. “She can’t stop crying and has panic attacks whenever she leaves the house.”
