On today’s edition of humanity is scary, we bring you: Pete Davidson‘s death threats. That’s right, Ariana Grande‘s fiancé is actually receiving legitimate death threats over the pair’s engagement. On Sept. 24, the SNL star took to The Howard Stern Show to share the harrowing details.

“I got a death threat!” the 24-year-old began. “Someone wanted to shoot me in the face… because [Ariana] is so hot. You know how insane that is?” he continued. “Am I that ugly that people want to shoot me in the face? They’re like, ‘no, f–k this guy,’ like what did I do?”

Poor Pete! We don’t think you’re ugly, buddy. Additionally, Ari’s soon-to-be husband went on to explain that while he feels “weird” using his lady’s security detail, it’s become pretty necessary. “It’s pretty rough, it’s like the walking dead out there,” Pete said. “I definitely do miss, like, walking around.”

While Ariana and Pete were once spotted around NYC quite often, the A-list duo has flown mostly under the radar since the passing of the pop star’s ex-boyfriend Mac Miller. The rapper died at just 26 years old of an apparent drug overdose and unfortunately, Ariana has received a disturbing amount of blame for the tragedy.

For those of you who aren’t aware, Ariana and Mac broke up in May after two years of dating. The “God is a woman” singer then got engaged to Pete in June — and fans of Mac were bothered at how quickly she seemingly moved on. People flooded Ari’s Instagram with hate before she disabled her comments.

“You honestly should feel ashamed,” one user wrote. “Getting engaged so soon is not the best idea. Wait three years at least. Especially if you just broke up with someone,” added another. “When he needed you the most you weren’t there for him, hope [you’re] happy now!!” someone chimed in.

Thankfully, Ari has slowly started to resurface on social media following Mac’s passing — including posting a number of tributes to her late love. We continue to send her our thoughts and prayers during this difficult time, and we hope that she and Pete are able to rise above all of the negativity!
